Ravenshead & Blidworth Rotary Club raise thousands of pounds for charity every year and the club is keen to attract new members to join them in their community work and to experience what it means to be a committed Rotarian.

We were pleased to be able to support the Blidworth and Rainworth fight against Covid-19** with a cash donation towards their Food-Aid program. "We should like to say a massive thank you to the Rotary Club of Ravenshead and Blidworth for their wonderful support with a generous donation of £500 towards the funding of the purchase food of food to go out into our community. It will make a big difference to what we are able to do."

Being confined to his house and garden wasn't going to stop Ravenshead & Blidworth Rotarian Bob Jackson from doing his bit for charity. Cheered on by his wife Sandra (adjudicator and drinks station monitor), Bob (82) completed 51 laps of his garden to ensure he completed the 4 mile target distance. Monies raised through sponsorship will go to charities Aquabox and Bowel Cancer UK.

Andrew Draper who volunteers as a storyteller for Southwell Workhouse presented a story in character of a boy who, in the 1840s, found himself and his family taken in by the Workhouse, what life was like in the Workhouse and how through a seven year apprenticeship as a blacksmith he came to be his own man by making left-handed shears.
