What a Performance

The Rotary Piano Extravaganza held on Saturday 11 th May at St Peters church raised over £1200 for our nominated local charities

What a tremendous success this was! With over 160 present in St Peters Church, the performances featured 14 musicians ranging from just 5 to 17 years old, plus a senior and three local piano teachers, a flautist and violinist completed an impressive line-up of local talent. Superb entertainment that entranced the audience throughout all the performances and gained rapturous applause and a standing ovation.

The event raised £1200 that will be donated equally to our three nominated charities, Maggie’s, Blidworth on the Move and Ravenshead Ready Call.

Refreshments were provided by the members of Ravenshead Inner Wheel with donations totalling over £400 that will be donated to the Inner Wheel’s President Kathy Kings nominated charity Nottinghamshire Blood Bikes.

Our Thanks for support with organising this event go Phoenix Pianos of Mansfield, who provided the Steinway grand piano, and space for rehearsals, and to Charles Tebbs who as Musical Director organised the programme for the event.

Also, a particular mention and thanks to our member Phil Taylor for all his work on bringing this event together, and for tuning the piano once it had been moved into the church. And of course, a big thank you to all those who supported our event by buying tickets.
