On Saturday 7th October, with temperatures heading above 20 deg C, those who took part in the Walk in the Woods enjoyed themselves following largely the long route into Harlow Woods from Ravens Lodge, taking in a tea or coffee at Portland College café, before returning to Ravens Lodge for a soup and dessert lunch.
Two walks were on offer, a longer route of approx. 4.5 miles and a shorter route of around 3.5 miles. We also arranged for the Ravenshead Community Bus to be available at the Portland Café to transport those who wished to ride back for their lunch.
The event was until 2019 a regular village event, and we were pleased to put this back onto the Village Calendar.
All the walkers completed their walks and were able to have their Lunch of Soup with a superb apple pie dessert whilst enjoying the company of all those present.
The day was a great success and the funds raised will be used by Inner Wheel and Rotary for the support of local charities and good causes.
