At time of writing, Lawrence Burton has just returned from the largest junior event in the World Indoor Cricket Federation calendar - the Junior World Series in Dubai. England sent girls and boys teams at u13, u15 and u17, and they gained international experience playing against teams from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Sri Lanka and UAE.
Having just turned 18, Lawrence will now be competing with adults for the chance to represent his country in future tournaments. Competition for places will get much tougher but he is prepared for the challenge. He says, for any young cricketers, the indoor game is a great way of keeping skills sharp during the winter rather than just club nets, and can of course, lead to bigger events and recognition
