An oak sapling grown from an acorn collected in Sherwood Forest has been planted in Ravenshead to mark the burial of a special community time capsule.

At the request of Ravenshead and Blidworth Rotary, the Sherwood Forest Trust provided the sapling.
The capsule, a stainless-steel flask, was created as part of the celebrations marking the 60th anniversary of the 1st Larch Farm Scout Group in Ravenshead.
It was buried at Ravens Lodge, their regular meeting place, and is set to be opened in 20 years. Sherwood Forest Trust was represented by volunteer Rotn Richard Lord and Rotary by president Susie Parry-Williams at the event, which Susie said was a wonderful example of local organisations coming together to celebrate community, heritage, and the future.
