Each year, in September, Ravenshead and Blidworth Rotary are pleased to present local, Year 6 pupils with a Dictionary for Life. This year we have provided over 100 dictionaries for Blidworth Oaks, Heathlands and Lake View Primary Schools.
Each pupil is able to use this resource in their lessons and can take it with them when they leave next July. It even has a page for their friends and teachers to add signatures.
The Usborne Illustrated UK Dictionary 4 Life comprises over 1,000 illustrations, 10,000 entries and 20,000 definitions printed in full colour on leaflet grade paper from sustainable forest sources. This dictionary has a user’s guide, parts of speech, writing hints, a history of our language and recommended websites. It also includes up to date Internet vocabulary although, bearing in mind the age group, inappropriate definitions are excluded!
