Blood Bikes Support

ROTARY club president Susie Parry-Williams, who has chosen Nottingham Blood Bikes as one of her principle causes to support this year, invited its Steve Clarke and Chris Perkins to explain how the charity supports the NHS. Formed in 2013 and run by volunteers, it has 10 motorbikes and nine cars that transport medical items, such as blood, plasma, samples, surgical trays, heel pricks from newborns, and records between hospitals across Nottinghamshire.

During 2025 the charity completed 5,103 jobs — saving the NHS more than £141,000 — and clocked up 82,084 miles.

It is completely funded by donations.
